A fantasy re-telling of the Wyatt Earp legend, Wyatt Earp’s heir Wynonna finds herself forced to take on the outlaws Earp killed during his lifetime as a nasty curse has taken over them that only she can break with her magical gun.
A YA novel that takes place during the roaring twenties which deals with magic, murder, and mayhem. That’s all I can say without giving away too much.
Vampire Girl by Karpov Kinrade comes from a married writing duo. It’s a unique look at the vampire myth, giving a detailed background story to the creation of the vampire and its surrounding worlds. For fans of Bella Forest, it is high on romance, and equally high on fantasy. What makes Kinrade’s book stand out is the discussions that the author is willing to have using their characters with everything from consent to sexuality. Fast paced, and addictive, Vampire Girl will have you simply craving more.
A show about 1950’s comic book characters turned into a murder mystery for teens shouldn’t have worked but somehow, it does. The CW’s use of Archie Andrews as the innocent, naive boy next door is handled perfectly. While he starts off with a seemingly simple existence, worried about music and football, the more he awakens to the crime and darkness that surrounds him the angrier he becomes. It’s the perfect metaphor for adolescence although it does make his character incredibly frustrating at times because you think he should already realize that the world is a terrible a place.
The show also tackles issues such as slut shaming, racial inequality, (Josie’s speech about why they’re called The Pussycats will break your heart and inspire you at the same time) and class differences. And rather then have them fed in an after school special kind of way, they are interwoven into the characters themselves.
And while the show may seem like a teenybopper romp in a nice, neat package it’s like those chocolate milkshakes they serve at Pops. Dark, but sweet at the same time. It’s the perfect metaphor for growing up as each episode gradually strips away at the characters innocence.
Also, all of the awards to Cole Sprouse for beating the child actor stereotype. He turns in a kick ass performance as Jughead Jones with just the right bit of sarcasm and broody loner.
Bitten is a Canadian television show about a family of werewolves based off of novels by Kelley Armstrong. It stars Laura Vandervoot who you may remember as Supergirl from her Smallville days. The show is about a family of werewolves living in Canada. Lots of eye candy and all of the paranormal romance tropes I know you just love.
Vampire Girl by Karpov Kinkade
In order to save her mother, a young woman must marry one of the seven princes of hell. Written by a husband and wife team underneath a pen name, the series is extremely addictive and you’ll find yourself wanting to read the next one right away.
A young American heiress finds herself swept off by a charming English gentleman who seems to have it all including dark secrets. Bonus it stars Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska.
A look inside the Charles Manson cult from the perspective of a fictionalized teenage girl who survives her involvement with the group. It’s extremely dark but shows how manipulative men can be with young girls.
Jay-z is already pretty bad ass to begin with but this southern gothic style weirdly works too.
Poe Party
Poe Party is a murder mystery show set on youtube starring Sean Persuade, Sinead Persuade, M.K. Wiles and a host of other youtubers as famous authors throughout history who find themselves in a murder mystery dinner.
Abigail Larson is a delightful artist with a flair for all things Gothic and unusual. She has a fairly large internet following.
From author Neil Gaiman, American Gods has been out for some time and has been wonderfully adapted for television by Starz. It airs every Sunday.
The Night Circus is a novel by Erin Morgenstern that tells the story of dueling magicians.
Heads Will Roll, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs
Along with being a writer, I’m also a bit addicted to graphic design which is where a lot of this project came from. I would see a picture for a cover and think of ten different stories for it. So I decided to incorporate those pictures into my story as per the suggestions of Derek Murphy from one of his videos on self-publishing.
So to help pay for the writing habit that I love, since I also work part time and a student, I thought I would offer my design services as well. I’m responsible for all of the graphics you see on my website as well as the editing of them. stellastokerauthor@yahoo.com is where I can be contacted at.
It is week one of my publishing experiment. I came up with the idea of a weekly, serialized novel so that I would always have content to offer new readers. The first volume of Barton Hollow went out on Friday, May 5th, 2017. The second volume is being written and goes out on Friday, May 12th, 2017. I put my book up for free and have gotten a few downloads but not nearly as many as I thought.
And, when I was worrying about this today, I stopped and reminded myself: this is the first week.
We hear so often of things going viral now that people want to believe that success is the same way. But success comes from hard work and dedication. That requires putting in the time, effort, and work to see results.
This is only the beginning. It took two weeks to get the first draft written, the website up, and the word out. This is the fifth day that the book has been released. Things are still new, just coming up. I’ve got a long way to go. The only question is how far am I willing to for this thing to work?
If you quite before you even start, you’ll never get a chance to see.

As an infant, I was diagnosed with tetralogy of fallottetralogy of fallot. Basically, it means I have a hole in my heart and you can click the link above for more details. I had surgery at 13 months old and grew up relatively normal. Despite being overweight, and having difficulty running, I had few problems and my doctors were routinely impressed with my progress. They thought I would have to be operated on again in my teens but I surprised everyone and lasted until I was twenty-five, when I finally had to have my heart operated on.
I was lucky, and able to get the surgery done at Cleveland Clinic. They did a valve replacement instead of cutting into me again, for which I am forever grateful as it means I don’t have to have another scar to my already big collection.
One was enough. After though, I was feeling lost. The world had gone to hell it seemed and I couldn’t fathom why, out of all the people on the planet, I was still here. And why I kept on coming back when the odds were set against me.
I had always written, but I had had little success in getting my work out there despite years of conferences and querying from the time I was sixteen. It seemed like a writing career wasn’t in the cards for me. Then, I looked into the romance community after hearing B.J. Daniels speak at a conference.
B.J. Daniels talked about having written 62 novels in her career, and that she was able to write full time because of romance. I became inspired and put my traditional fantasy work on the back burner. I took my passion for rock music and wrote All The Right Notes a rock star romance inspired by the 90’s grunge scene. I was fortunate enough to find a passionate editor that took me on with Totally Bound and the book is due out in September underneath my other pen name C. McGrath.
However, fantasy is my first love, and I come back to it time and time again. It’s what made me want to be a writer. And I kept on coming up with project after project, writing continuously while waiting for my book to come out. I started projects but wanted them read right away. I posted bits and pieces on facebook which I’ve been doing for as long as I had a profile. But I wanted more, and I wanted it now. So, Stella stoker is my passion project. A way for me to get things out to family and friend. My serial novel that comes out this Friday, Barton Hollow, is published weekly for the people that have supported me from the very beginning. Always telling me that I could, never saying the word can’t. And if you’d like to join that community and help support me in this writing endeavor, I’d be more than happy to have you.
